I was delighted to film the elopement of Victoria and Rob in Mount Hotham, a mountain range located in the Victorian Alps, only a few hours’ drive from my hometown, Melbourne. Shot immediately after we were out of that lockdown! The elopement encapsulated their relationship perfectly.
The beautiful backdrop of winding mountain paths reflected their individual journeys to be together and created the perfect setting for their union. Indeed, Rob did the maths and discovered that they had travelled precisely 427,452km to be with each other during their five-year relationship.
Their elopement was therefore not only a testament to the strength and resilience of their relationship but a celebration of their enduring love for one another and commitment to see each other grow. An emotional statement from Victoria summed it up perfectly;
“Never would I have thought when we met five years ago, that I would be standing here today celebrating us. You are my favourite person, and I will try my very hardest to be the best version of myself for you.”
As their videographer, I wanted to capture their incredible journey and tell their unique love story so that they would have memories to last a lifetime. Indeed, each and every moment of their big day was special. From the excitement of getting ready, to the tears of their first look and heartfelt wedding vows, Victoria and Rob’s elopement was truly wonderful.
I felt privileged to have been there and created a cinematic tribute that they can cherish for a lifetime.
